My new fitness love…PILOXING!
I love bringing new trends from America to Germany. Back in February 2009 I was one of the few Zumba trainers in Germany. Earlier in 2012 I was going through my library of fitness DVD’s and came across PILOXING. I had purchased this and never got around to doing it with all the ZUMBA classes and Booty Barre DVD’s. So I tried it one morning and after 10 minutes I was dripping in sweat! The boxing portion is the best stress outlet, after an hour I feel so energized and fresh. After a few months of doing the DVD with friends, I signed up to get my certification to teach! I drove to the Czech Republic to spend another sweaty weekend learning the science behind it with Mia Smith, a PILOXING Master Trainer. I was officially the first PILOXING trainer in Germany, time to start another trend! PILOXING was at FIBO this year and now there is a huge boom! PILOXING is a combination of boxing and standing pilates. It is a great interval training class created by Swedish dancer and celeb trainer Viveca Jensen, (she’s been getting Hilary Duff and other Hollywood types into shape) Piloxing’s principle, says Jensen is ‘that feminine is powerful and it aims for women to attain a sleek, sexy and powerful self-image.’ PILOXING is a full body workout than strengthens, tones, and sculpts the body. The 1 pound gloves really take it up a notch both cardiovascular and strength wise.
I have included a recent clip of Viveca on a USA talk show, the choreography is fantastic and fun! Finding things you love doing is the key to sticking with a fitness routine. So PILOXING, here I come! Sleek. Sexy. Powerful.
